About the Artist

“Inspiration comes from nature & rural life, always flowing, shifting, re-surfacing, & woven with threads of faith & humour.”  Vicki Hotte

Vicki is an established Alberta visual artist. She has had an interest in art-making from childhood, but didn’t realize it would be her ‘calling’ until much later. It became real when she completed a Visual Arts Diploma at Grande Prairie Regional College, and went on to finish her Bachelor’s Degree in Fine Arts, at the University of Victoria in British Columbia, with honours. Since then, she’s been creating & teaching art, and doing her share on the family farm. Vicki has shown her work regularly throughout the Peace River Region and beyond. Her work is in the permanent collections of the Alberta Foundation for the Arts, the Art Gallery of Grande Prairie, QE2 Hospital & the Dawson Creek Gallery. In 2009, she was awarded Honourable Mention at the Lieutenant Governor’s Gala in Grande Prairie.
